How to prepare Kava Kava?
Portion size, proportions, preparation in traditional and quick method, tips and tricks
You do not need to travel far to find harmony with nature. But the first step is necessary. If you are new to Kavaha, we have prepared some tips for you.
Let’s start! It is recommended to drink two portions of the extract at once when you first try Kava. The first dose rarely allows you to fully enjoy its unique effects. The second should put us in a state of deep relaxation. This is the characteristic of Kava. When our body is attuned to the action of the kavalactones it contains, it will react faster and more effectively to smaller and smaller portions.
You will feel the quality immediately. With the first sips of Kavaha, be prepared for a short-term slight numbness of the tongue or mouth. This is a sign that you are drinking Kava of the highest quality, from fully ripe and properly prepared roots. This way the body reacts to its first contact with kavalactones, the relaxing effects of which will soon take over the whole body. The numbness will pass after a few minutes and may or may not occur with subsequent servings. You should wait around 15-20 minutes for the first wave of relaxation and calmness.
It’s time for harmony. To fully feel the unique properties of Kavaha, the extract should be drunk on an empty stomach, i.e. about 3-4 hours after the last meal. The relaxing effect – depending on the body – lasts about 1.5 hours, although the positive effects can be felt for much longer. If we drink Kavaha thinking of restful and regenerating sleep, it is best to choose the DEEP CALM variety and enjoy it 2-3 hours before going to sleep.
Get ready for the best. The traditional preparation of Kava is a separate ritual. It is worth spending a moment focusing on it and finding out that just getting the extract can be a relaxing prelude to the harmonious effects of Kavaha. If you prefer to choose the faster method, your drink will not lose its properties. Explore both ways!
Not shaken but stirred. One you have prepared your drink, remember to mix it regularly so that the spicy extract does not sink to the bottom of your container.

Taste of kava kava
The name of Kava Kava plant is said to be derived from its bitter taste. There is no denying that the taste of Kava is not to everyone’s liking straight away. Therefore, for people for whom the taste of the drink is as important as its relaxing effect, we recommend experimenting with additives.
The bitter taste can be overcome by adding sweet fruit (such as pineapple, mango, or watermelon), citrus (especially lemon and lime), honey or coconut or almond milk.
